One of the things I like most about Germany is the way most people have trust in one another. Near where I live, there is a pumpkin patch and flower garden that is completely based on integrity. People go there to pick flowers or pumpkins, and then simply leave their money in a box. No one is there to monitor anything. In America, the only place where I've seen something like this is in the library's used book sale.
On the bus, people are expected to punch their cards at the machine, and U/S-Bahn tickets are often not checked. Victoria and I accidentally rode first class without realizing it until we were already at our destination. That wouldn't have happened if they came to check the tickets!
