The Unfolding

Every time I think I have the full picture and finally understand something, I can feel God saying, "Not yet. You don't know exactly what I mean yet." Once in a while, I notice Him revealing more and more--from my daily, mundane (or exciting) activities to having the "answer" just pop up in my brain, I see God working in really mysterious, amazing, and powerful ways.

Recently, God has been teaching me about how many people will lose their faith in Him when something goes wrong in life. When you thank God so much for a gift, and He suddenly takes it away. People start to wonder:

Is God trying to punish me? I guess God doesn't love me. What did I ever do wrong?

When they can't find the answer or start to believe that God no longer cares for them, worse things start to happen. In reality, God takes things away when He sees that his children are no longer putting Him as the first priority.

I've been meeting up with some friends recently, since school is about to start again. I was really excited to meet up with one friend in particular, but as soon as I saw her, I knew something was wrong. She didn't even say a single word, but I could see that something had happened to her light. That was the moment when I got an impression, telling me something I wished wasn't true. A day later, it turned out to be true. I stare in awe at God for the umpteenth time, as if I cannot believe each impression is so accurate. I try to learn not to go against impressions, because bad things happen when I do. Somehow, each impression is just as amazing and mysterious as the one before.

During my time in Hong Kong, I became good friends with a girl who told me that once something depressing and unfortunate happens in life, it seems as if it is hard to get back up again. She says it's like a self-fulfilling prophecy, because they talk themselves into believing the worst situations, and believe that is what will happen. I agree that people must be prepared for the worst of situations (it's always good to be prepared), but it is never good to be constantly thinking about the worst.

Other interesting quotes I heard today include:

People who love life will not become bosses.

and the reply...

But people who want to change the world must become bosses.

Those were really interesting and funny quotes, but I think neither of them is true. People who love life and are bosses will be resilient, optimistic, and realistic bosses. And people who want to change the world? Well, I think everyone has the power to do that. It just doesn't always happen overnight.

I think 3D printed ceramics are just so cool. Our university actually has a 3D printing studio, and I am pretty excited to try it out this year.
