At least something good came out of this--advertising CBYX and study abroad is something I love to do. No, people. It's not for those who take a gap year because they can't get into a good college.
Though I'm not in Germany yet, CBYX has already changed my life. About a week and a half ago, I got a call from Vanderbilt University, saying that I got off their waitlist. I literally screamed. My favorite school, ranked #1 in the nation for Education (my major), accepted me. If it weren't for those updates I had sent to them after being accepted to CBYX, I doubt I would have gotten in. My grades weren't the best, and I'm not some prodigy. In fact, many of my parents' Asian friends used to laugh at my horrible grades, and talked about how I didn't live up to Asian standards. But no one is laughing now, because I'm at the 17th best university in the nation, and even get to go to Germany for a year. Everyone thought I was crazy for even applying to CBYX. Now all those Asian people are looking up CBYX too.
