When my family and I went to PDO session numero dos, somehow, my parents learned that a typical haircut in Germany was equivalent to $120. My mom was in shock. Here in Maryland, I can get my hair cut for $15. Obviously it's not at a high end salon (hello, Chinese in-home haircuts!), but my hair doesn't look that bad. Well, you can judge from my videos, but that's besides the point.
Due to the "horrible exchange rate" (which according to my mom is whenever the US Dollar is weaker), my mom is allowing me to have long hair. WHAT? Long hair is something that is non-existent in my life. Ever since little, I've had male buzz cuts or other horribly styled hair. My mom was a tomboy when she was younger, and thus never learned how to do my hair properly. Till this day, I can't style hair and have no idea how to apply makeup. Let's not bring up the time when I borrowed my classmate's "pencil," only to find out that it was eyeliner. I still don't really know what eyeliner is used for, but who keeps makeup in their pencil pouch? 0_0
Don't get me wrong. I have tried to learn more about makeup so that I don't seem like a weirdo whenever beauty products are brought up during a conversation, but I just..never really got them. The only thing I understand is lotion and sunscreen, but apparently those are skincare items, and not makeup. Sigh. Everyone looks beautiful to me already, and I'm not exaggerating. I don't know. I guess my definition of "beautiful" must be skewed. But then again, not really, especially if it's your heart that makes you beautiful. Being the slow person that I am, I could never imagine getting up early to style anything. My style is just bedhead (but my mom insists that I still be neat). Do I sound like a guy right now? Anyways, I've taken a detour again. Let's get back to my hair story.
So not only has my mom allowed me to get long hair, she wants me to get it straightened. So now my question is, "Why?" My hair is already straight! But my mom doesn't think so. She wants it pin straight, because that's what she thinks "neat" is. I remember I got my hair straightened once in China, because it was so cheap and my mom wanted to try it. I ended up looking really weird, so I'm not sure if I want to do it again. But my mom ensures me that this time, the hairstylist is more "advanced" and the treatment can last up to a year. That means I don't need to get any haircuts in Germany.
See that logic? Not so flawed :) But definitely kind of weird.
