-Registration
-Introduction (showed some videos, etc.). My favorite video was "Do You Speak AFS?" We also talked about the infamous "W" curve, and some people were invited "on stage" to do a skit about the AFS support structure.
-Student panel (included past CBYXers, NSLI-Yers, etc.). I specifically enjoyed hearing this girl's stories about her time in Egypt last year through NSLI-Y.
-Break! I met up with some of my CBYX Facebook friends. It was like seeing a celebrity. *Ahhh! I finally get to meet them!* There was also some food: my dad made a beeline for Coke.
-Small groups. We broke up into little groups and just chatted about host family presents, school credit, and everything else in between. As an icebreaker, we were each given a scenario and asked how we would deal with it. Parents were asked to go downstairs and do the same activity as us.
-Evaluation. We all did a survey about the PDO.
-Reunite! Parents and students got back into the same room again, and just chatted.
Overall, it was great. And here's the next installation of Gehen Deutschen, where I talk a little bit more about the PDO and some other stuff:
