Growing up around Washington D.C. has its ups and downs. You feel happy to have access to such great resources in the capital, but whenever people say, "Oh, you must have so much fun there," I just reply..."not after you've exhausted every possible museum and almost all the events." I think I've been around D.C. so much to the point that I get bored of it. Now, my summer seems empty, and I've been desperately trying to fill it up with something. But the problem is what? I've been to almost every mall, park, and theater in the area also.
So finally, my conclusion is that friends and relationships make all the difference. Unfortunately, most of my friends are out vacationing, and I'm stuck back here, because my parents really don't want to spend more money. They have already drained all their money in my college fund and my brother's private school expenses. I'm thinking that maybe, I'll just invite some people over to cook with me--I need to learn more about American cuisine. Sounds a bit dorky, but hey, it's good bonding time. I just need to find someone who actually likes to cook!
