There are a few things I can't wait to do, try, and see in Germany. They are in no particular order as follows:
- Getting 25-50 cents back for recycling bottles at the recycle machine!
- Eating Spaghettieis--everyone who I've talked to that's in Germany now has said this. It's like the Pao Bing of China, or Patbingsu of Korea (famous-ness wise/ they are all cold treats). It's just Nudeln-looking ice cream.
- Going to the ATM and feeling like a big kid
- Buying a KinderCone and filling it with German school supplies (note: I do understand that I am too old for this, but whatever. I loved Kindergarten, and I have the vocabulary of a 5 year old anyway :)
- Eating at a cafe and staring out the window (or sitting outside) and seeing the gorgeous scenery--I know this is corny, but I really enjoy sitting in cafes, even if I'm not eating anything. It makes me feel peaceful inside.
- Trying quark, which is what AlexandJim say is "white stuff that tastes like nothing."
- Trying a doener
- Going to Nutelleria! I am actually not a huge fan of Nutella (don't kill me for saying that!), but I think it's got a cool design and innovative treats. If they had this store in America, they would be earning tons of money. Franchising, anyone? ;) I like some other Ferrero Rocher chocolates, though.
- Castles and architecture! I swear, if I wasn't so bad at drawing, I would have become an architect. While I do really appreciate modern design and love it, I also miss vintage style. Germany is just so full of culture--I can't wait to experience it.
