Red Cross volunteering..with people 60+ :) Old people are nice, most of the time.Yep, actually, I'm still speechless. And today, my teacher walked past me in the hallway and said, "Hi, my lady!" -.- I don't really think he meant to say it with that connotation..this is what I mean when I say that while English teachers are by no means extremely bad here (at least not as bad in Asia), they still have some way to go.
Me: Why do people throw these wonderful clothes away? Some are still perfectly new and seem expensive.
Old lady: Truth be told, a lot of these clothes are from people who just died.
Me: Did you just have to tell me that..:(
Old lady: Hey, look at these super huge pants! Man! That's probably why they died.
Old lady #2: -picks up undergarments- Clearly someone had...(continues with inappropriate comment) Can you think of any of our clients who would fit this?
Old lady #3: What is this person thinking? They look like they were from the 40s!
Me: But didn't you say you were born in the 40s?
Old lady #3: Yeah, but they are like, so out of style! -prances around with another dress she found- Oh so pretty! Hey, grab something too; we can take a picture!
Old lady #4: -sees me looking through clothes on the rack- Michelle, those are for the unemployed! Do you want to be unemployed?
Old lady #5: Michelle, here's a pirates outfit for Karneval! Want it? It's for a 10 year old, but I think you fit.
Old man: Michelle, we are celebrating Rosenmontag next week at 2:30. I'll write you a note so you can skip school and come have cake with us!
I'm just speechless..
Here we go again. One of my Facebook posts :)
