Daily Dialogues

If you are friends with me on Facebook, you might see some of my dialogue statuses. They are basically daily interactions with my host family or Germans that I find interesting, funny, or just plain weird. So I'm starting a collection now, since I like remembering these things. Yeah, I can be pretty weird; please bear with it :)

Host brother #2 (12 years old) and me...

Maxi: Hey Michelle, guess what?
Me: What?
Maxi: I got a girlfriend!
Me: Oh, that's nice. Is she in your class?
Maxi: No, she's a year younger than me--she's in the 6th grade.
Me: I see :) Have you done anything with her yet?
Maxi: Uhh..no.. (at this point he's just looking really weird...)
Me (in head): Oh no..what did I just say..(I don't really know what's going on)
Me: Did you do anything fun together?
Maxi: OH. THAT'S WHAT YOU MEAN! No, unfortunately not yet.
Me: speechless.

It took me a while to realize what was going on in his head. Pre-teens/teens are just the same all over the world, and twisted minds are extremely prominent here. It really takes me a while to get used to how they use words and the connotations that follow it. Please don't play mind games with me, people. You know I'm always clueless.

There's nothing I can do to stop people from having perverted thoughts, unfortunately. Interesting questions that boggle minds, however, I like :)
